Course Motivation
What is Depression?
Have you (or people you know) gone through periods of being unable to feel or experience any joy or enthusiasm in daily living? Do you feel that you and your emotions are locked in a vacant vacuum that does not allow you to feel anything but sadness, anger, or indifference? Do you ever feel a sense of hopelessness?
Professionals believe that everyone has experienced depression to some degree because of losing a loved one, being terminated from a job, becoming injured, moving to a different location; there are many reasons for temporary depression. To a certain degree, actually allowing ourselves to feel pain and grief helps us move through and out of it. However, when depression lingers, it is time to take some action.
